Wuhan Dedicated Team for Attracting Businesses and Talents/Investment Promotion Unit

Wuhan Dedicated Team for Attracting Businesses and Talents will support the Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises (OASES) and Talents Service Unit to make it as easy as possible for target companies to realize their plans in Hong Kong, offering them facilitation support and customized measures to meet their specific needs, and offering one-stop services for incoming talents, including:

  • Support OASES of the HKSAR Government to reach out to and carry out negotiations with the target enterprises;
  • Formulate attractive special facilitation measures covering aspects such as land, tax and financing that are applicable exclusively to target enterprises, and provide them with tailor-made plans to facilitate the setting up of their operations in Hong Kong;
  • Support the Talents Service Unit of the HKSAR Government to recruit incoming talents by providing them with one-stop support.

The Wuhan Investment Promotion Unit (IPU) is an extension arm of the Invest Hong Kong and forms part of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Wuhan. The Unit's main missions are to promote the business advantages of Hong Kong to the five provinces of Hubei, Hunan, Henan, Shanxi and Jiangxi, encourage Mainland companies in those regions to open or expand their overseas businesses in or through Hong Kong and assist investors to set up offices in Hong Kong. For Mainland companies interested in setting up in Hong Kong, the IPU offers a series of free advice and support services, including:

  • Provide the latest information about the economic environment and investment opportunities in Hong Kong;
  • Provide advice and practical support about setting up business in Hong Kong, such as company and business registration, application for licences, trademark registration, working visas, staff recruitment and selection of office premises etc;
  • Liaise with relevant Government departments, organisations and Chambers of Commerce etc;
  • Provide information on business matching;
  • Arrange for public relations and publicity activities; and
  • Provide continuing assistance

Invest Hong Kong

Capital Investment Entrant Scheme

The objective of the Capital Investment Entrant Scheme is to facilitate the entry for residence by capital investment entrants (the entrant), i.e. persons who bring capital to Hong Kong but would not be engaged in the running of any business here. The entrant is allowed to make his choice of investments amongst permissible assets without the need to establish or join in a business.

The Scheme is applicable to:

  • Foreign nationals (except nationals of Afghanistan, Cuba and Democratic People's Republic of Korea);
  • Macao Special Administrative Region (Macao SAR) residents;
  • Chinese nationals who have obtained permanent resident status in a foreign country;
  • Stateless persons who have obtained permanent resident status in a foreign country with proven re-entry facilities; and
  • Taiwan residents.

Capital Investment Entrant Scheme

Important Message:
The Government has announced that the Capital Investment Entrant Scheme would be suspended with effect from 15 January 2015 until further notice. The Immigration Department will continue to process applications received on or before 14 January 2015, whether already approved (including approval-in-principle and formal approval) or still being processed.
